The 2013 Community Health Institute (CHI) & Expo “Transforming the Health Center GPS (Growing Patient Care and Service)” is quickly approaching. From August 25-27 Community Health Center leaders and innovators will be gathering in Chicago to participate in interactive discussions, and expert lead training and education sessions to prepare them for the rapidly changing health care world. Health Centers will also hear from H. Jack Gieger, MD— co-founder of the Community Health Center movement—and Howard K. Koh, MD, MPH, Assistant Secretary for Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
With so many sessions to pick from, and so little time, NACHC will also be offering CHI attendees quick, ten-minute training sessions. The T3 (Timely Ten-Minute Tips) will offer easy tips, ideas, and best practices that health centers can implement to improve productivity, performance and overall efficiency.
For other innovative ideas, conference attendees can also attend the poster presentations on Sunday, August 25 from 5:00 to 6:30. The poster presentation includes 114 posters and will provide an opportunity for participants to check out research activities and exchange ideas with their peers. Poster session visitors will also have the opportunity to vote for the “best in show” posters in categories of research and best practices.
However, it won’t be all business at the CHI. This year’s reception The Windy City Discovered will feature some of Chicago’s highlights, complete with local live music performances and carnival games reminiscent of the famous Navy Pier.
