It’s quite obvious when the holidays approach and the year comes to an end—holiday decorations are sparkling and holiday music will be on repeat. The smell of pines will greet you at your doorstep and instantly put you in the mood for the holidays, but for many of us it does not stop there.
During the holiday season many of us find ourselves overindulging in various things, such as spending and eating; and oftentimes we forget about the simple things that normally take place in our daily lives. This year, before the chaos begins, take time out to make sure your holiday fun and health are all being accounted for.
- If you haven’t done so, now is a good time to get flu shots for yourself and your family.
- It is ok to have a sugar cookie and a slice of holiday ham but don’t forget to get the proper amount of exercise and veggies.
- There will be several holiday and New Year’s party invitations but just remember, if you plan to drink be sure to have a designated driver.
- Make sure that holiday lights are properly lit, and have emergency numbers handy in case of a fire.
Now that you have seen your list and checked it twice, have a happy, healthy and safe holiday!
