Federal Affairs staff will be on and off the Hill all week, closely communicating with Members of Congress and committee staff with a focus on health center appropriations and health reform.

• Kaitlin McColgan will be meeting with Appropriations Committee members and coordinating our legislative response to last week’s House Appropriations Bill “flat-funding” the Health Centers program.
• Lupita Salazar-Letscher will be examining the coverage and payment provisions, with a particular eye toward health centers’ reimbursement, in both the House health reform bill and the Senate Finance Committee bill, both expected out this week.
• Alex Clift will be monitoring the HELP Committee markup as it enters its third week, keeping track of amendments – currently the Committee has more than 500 pending, including several related to Health Centers.
• John Sawyer and Dan Hawkins will be on the Hill pushing Health Centers’ agenda, as Committee work on health reform bills hits full throttle.
