Kudos to National Community Health Advocate of the Month for April: Lorraine Leong, who is the Director of Community Relations and Advocacy at the William F. Ryan Community Health Center in New York City. Lorraine joined the Ryan family two years ago with an unmatched passion for grassroots advocacy (plus like many New Yorkers she doesn’t take no for an answer). Lorraine holds the state record two years running for organizing the largest health center contingent to attend advocacy day at the Community Health Care Association of New York State. Her persistence and grassroots fire also garnered nearly 2000 signatures on the 2007 Community Health Center petition drive.
