February is National Children’s Dental Health Month. Every year the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums. Community Health Centers are a critical element of good dental health for people of all ages, with 74 percent of health centers providing dental services on site. In fact, the number of health center patients using dental services grew 162 percent from 2000 to 2009, from 1.3 million to 3.4 million patients. Now that’s something to smile about!
