Proposed Rule Would Strip Health Care Access for Millions of People

NACHC and a host of other organizations are calling on the Department of Health and Human Services to “rescind a proposed rule that could undermine access to care for millions of patients by stripping areas across the United States of their status as health professional shortage areas, or HPSAs, and Medically Underserved Areas, or MUAs.”  NACHC tells AAFP News that the new rule “is not ready for prime time.”  You can read the AAFP article by reporter James Arvantes here.  You can also read about an analysis of the new rule by the George Washington University’s School of Public Health and Health Services.
