Across the United States, health centers are recognizing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in different ways.
• Central Care Community Health Center in Houston, TX is offering a Breast Cancer Awareness gift package that is available with each visit. They’ve also turned their Web site pink in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
• Iberia Comprehensive Community Health Center, in collaboration with the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Acadiana Affiliate, is offering free mammograms to uninsured women over the age of 40 this month.
• The Family Medical Care Community Health Center, a division of CHANGE, Inc. in Weirton, WV, and the West Virginia Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Program, sponsored a “Walk for Women” to raise money for breast cancer screenings for local uninsured women.
• Community Health Center, Inc. in Middletown, CT is “going pink” this month by hosting a Go Pink! Fun Fall Fest; proceeds will provide financial assistance to breast cancer patients who need help with daily living costs.
