Yesterday, NACHC responded to a December 28th solicitation from the Office of Inspector General (OIG) within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) for new safe harbors under the federal anti-kickback statute and the beneficiary inducement prohibition. In resubmitting a proposal originally submitted in 2010, NACHC proposes a new safe harbor to protect arrangements under which health centers offer certain motivational incentives to encourage health center patients to seek appropriate, necessary and timely care.
