[A]n increase in donors and patient visits, as well as an effort to reduce spending, has reduced the health center’s debt to zero. And David Burke, OCHS chief financial officer, reported Monday that the center’s operating loss had been reduced from almost $564,000 in fiscal year 2008 to $1,887 in FY 2009.
“It’s quite a turnaround,” he said.
“Financially, we have a huge accomplishment,” Berrien added. “We are still here.”
