This week, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will appear before several committees on the President’s proposed FY2013 budget – including the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health. The hearing, titled “The FY 2013 HHS Budget,” will take place on Thursday morning and Secretary Sebelius will be the only witness to testify. This is standard practice when the President’s budget is released and allows Members of Congress the opportunity to ask the Secretary questions about the budget numbers and policies. The hearing announcement is here, and you can read NACHC’s statement for information on how the President’s proposed budget would impact health centers and health center patients. Stay tuned to the blog next week for our sum-up of the hearing, and other budget news.
