As Congress ramps up the health care reform debate – one that’s likely to extend through the summer and fall – we wanted to share some recent insightful reporting on the legislative and policy action that we felt gave a good snapshot of what’s happening here in DC:
- Matt Bai’s piece, “Taking the Hill” in the upcoming New York Times Magazine, goes inside the legislative maneuverings, displaying the Obama administration’s strategic approach to working with Congress on health care.
- The New Yorker has a fantastic piece on health care costs, “The Cost Conundrum”, by former Capitol Hill and Clinton administration staffer (and Massachusetts General surgeon) Dr. Atul Gawande.
- Kaiser Health News (a fantastic new site developed by the Kaiser Family Foundation) has a good rundown on the possible ways forward for health reform, called “Big, Small or Nothing at All: Three Scenarios for Health Reform.”
