Every year the nation celebrates National Health Center Week(NHCW) in praise of the services and contributions of America’s Community Health Centers. Here’s just a sampling of the events: Christ Community Health Services in Memphis, TN hosts four simultaneous voter registration drives, while Zufall Health Clinic in Dover, NJ offers tips on how to form healthy eating habits at its “Taste of Dover Health Food Festival.” The newly opened Vermillion-Parke Community Health Center in Clinton, IL has made the news for the activities they have planned. Also, NACHC will host an audio press conference on a new report to be released on August 11th. The report, called ACCESS Transformed: Building a Primary Care Workforce for the 21st Century, will document that there aren’t enough primary care doctors and nurses at health centers to meet America’s growing health care needs .
