On January 22, 2013, CMS issued a lengthy proposed rule relating to implementation of several key provisions in the Affordable Care Act including Medicaid expansion, bench-mark package of services for new Medicaid eligibles and essential health benefits, Medicaid cost-sharing, Exchange enrollment and eligibility, etc. See proposed rule. The deadline for commenting on the proposed rule has been extended to February 21, 2013. NACHC is currently reviewing this rule and anticipates focusing its comments on the proposals that are particularly important to FQHCs and their patients.
