The San Fernando Valley Sun ran a piece from Northeast Valley Health Corporation documenting the health center’s efforts related to H1N1 Flu.
With overall influenza activity in California remaining widespread, Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC), a nonprofit organization serving the underserved populations of the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, continued its efforts of creating a healthier community by providing approximately 1,000 H1N1 vaccines to those in high-risk groups at a flu outreach clinic held on Saturday, November 7 in Sun Valley.
“Despite the global shortage of adequate H1N1 flu vaccine, community clinics like NEVHC are performing heroically alongside our own Department of Public Health to vaccinate children and families who meet the federal CDC guidelines,” Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky said. “These health care partners are vital links in protecting our local communities, and as more vaccine arrives in the weeks ahead,we’ll continue working closely together to ensure its availability to those in need.”
