Breast Cancer Awareness Lives On

By Yvette Crenshaw

October is coming to an end, but hopefully the breast cancer awareness spread by health centers and other organizations will last throughout the remainder of the year. As we mentioned in an earlier post, several health centers took time out to honor breast cancer awareness by hosting events and even participating in breast cancer walks. Here are a few more highlights:

  • The Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center in Worcester and Framingham, MA participated in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
  • Quality of Life Health Services, Inc. in Gadsden, AL hosted their Sixth Annual Free Breast Cancer Awareness Forum.

Breast cancer awareness month serves as the perfect platform for health centers to educate patients and surrounding communities on the importance of getting regular screenings and asking questions when in doubt.

Thanks for sharing your stories with us and please don’t forget to read NACHC’s press release on National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
