$2 Million Dollars for 18 Doctors

The Colorado Community Health Network is one of many partners awarding doctors in Colorado with loan repayment funds to combat a growing medical shortage in 57 of Colorado’s 64 counties. The program will establish Colorado as a leader in addressing local and national medical shortages by recruiting more doctors. “Community Health Centers cannot compete dollar-for-dollar with for-profit employers, so benefits such as education loan repayment can make all the difference in a health care provider’s ability to choose to work for a Community Health Center,” explains Kitty Bailey, chief operating officer for the Colorado Community Health Network. The Rocky Mountain State is one of many states projecting shortages in primary care physicians.
