October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By Yvette Crenshaw

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and health centers across the nation are recognizing it by hosting various events, such as screenings and educatonal outreach.  Some events we’ve heard about include:

Baldwin Family Health Care in Baldwin, MI will be promoting “staff pink days” and will also give patients that receive mammograms in October a chance to be entered into a raffle.

Greater Sioux Community Health Center in Sioux Center, IA is planning to host an after hours breast cancer screening party where they will provide consultations, snacks, breast exams and much more.

Central Virginia Health Services in New Canton, VA will be sponsoring a “Community Walk For a Cure.”

Erie Family Health Center in Chicago, IL will host educational lunch sessions for staff about important breast health information.
